Albany River Outpost

Exciting news for anglers as Brace is opening a brand new single cabin outpost camp in 2020 on Little Makokibatan Lake on the famed Albany River system! It’s a deluxe cabin with hot/cold running water, shower, Sat Phone, electricity and new boats and motors with padded boat seats. They are also planning on internet with WiFi. Another great feature is meal orders (Call for details).

Little Makok is a substantial lake almost 11 kilometres long and 11/2 kilometres wide with direct access through a channel to Big Makokibatan Lake.

The main lake is massive, almost 30 kilometres long by 21/2 kilometres wide. The Albany River flows through Makokibatan entering at the west end and exiting at the east end. Many miles of river is navigable upstream from the lake for the adventurous angler. Downstream there are more rapids and incredible fishing for trophy brook trout with the help of a local native guide to navigate you through the rapids.

It’s an incredible location for trophy pike as well as walleye, with some tipping the scales at over 10 pounds and 30 inches in length!
